Tessera, Ziad Nakad for Haute Couture Paris FW
Architecture and Geometry.
Inspired by the ancient mosaic, Ziad Nakad’s Fall Winter 19/20 couture collection is an ode to architecture and geometry. Sizes marked, oversize sleeves, asymmetrical, which are a true technical feat while giving an impression of lightness in resolutely feminine outfits.
The embroidery punctuates the silhouettes, such as “tessellas” and “tesserulas” whose assembly reveals an aerial mosaic. It is this assemblage that inspired the creator of the title of the collection by alliteration. A colorful collection, from blue to red, from gold to silver with black tips.
Always concerned about a high quality, Ziad Nakad offers tulles that mingle with rags, lace, and velvet, giving his creations an architectural and modern dimension, reminding us if it was necessary his mastery of the cuts and volumes.
