An Inaugural Food Festival will take place in Rhodes in May and October 2022.
Throughout the year, many tourists flock to the well-known Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos. Some travel to these destinations to see the famous blue domes and others to take in gorgeous views of the Aegean Sea. However, many visitors miss out on gems such as the beautiful island of Rhodes. Rhodes is the third largest Greek island, located in the south-eastern corner of the Aegean Sea. This island is best known for its delicious cuisine, rich culture, emerald waters, and medieval sights.
On March 22, 2022, the Rhodes Food Festival team, Aegean Tourism, Mitsis Hotels, and the Ixian Grand gathered for lunch in New York City to introduce the Rhodes Food Festival. This festival is coming to Rhodes in May 2022. The gathering took place at the high-end Greek restaurant, Estiatorio Milos.
Governor Hatzimarkos, the Governor of the Southern Aegean Region of Greece, was in attendance. He spoke of his love of Rhodes and its cuisine, particularly the impressive fresh fish dishes. He inferred that no matter how many times you visit Rhodes, you can always find something new and unique to experience there.

As a result of strong competition among the other European regions, South Aegean received the title of the “European Region of Gastronomy 2019” whereas young Rhodian chefs are awarded the European Young Chef Award every year since its launch in 2016.

The lunch menu consisted of multiple courses of traditional dishes such as grilled Lavraki and delectable baklava. Wine complimented the meals as well. At the event, presentations highlighted the festival and the luxury resorts involved.
The Rhodes Food Festival, hosted by Legends Abroad and The Region of South Aegean, is an experience that focuses on the culinary delights of Rhodes. There will be Spring and Fall festival options in May and October. For seven nights and eight unforgettable days, guests will choose between staying at one of two five-star all-inclusive resorts: The Ixian Grand or The Alila Resort and Spa.
Each hotel has more than 300 rooms. Both have multiple options for room categories to fit the guests’ interests. Many suites also include amazing swim-up pools. The Culinary Fusion Festival Evening Gala will take place at the stunning Kallithea Springs and consists of top chefs making traditional recipes.
