Self-Care Tips with Kristin

Meet Kristin Longstreet, Beauty Director for LA Fashion week and accomplished hairstylist at La Rouge Salon, Redken Artist who travels the nation as an educator and Founder/CEO of Hotroller Girl Productions.
In a Q&A Kristin talks about her role and how she maintains a healthy lifestyle.

Tell us about your role as Beauty Director for this year’s LA Fashion Week and what do you like most about your role?

As the Beauty Director for LA Fashion Week, I’m responsible for curating the ultimate dream team backstage including hairstylists, makeup artists, nail technicians, and beauty sponsors from all over the world.
Come show day, I lead and empower my talented HotRoller Girl Productions team to a successful (and drop-dead gorgeous) runway show. I personally live for the rush of energy that the backstage beauty room brings, you should see our faces and feel the electricity in the air once the final model lineup struts for the runway–– it’s priceless. This upcoming season of LAFW will take place at the Petersen Automotive Museum from March 31 – April 2, 2022.

How much preparation is involved behind the scenes?

Large scale, high profile, and energetic events require major planning and magic making–– especially LA Fashion Week. Behind the scenes, I am on the go-between weekly LAFW meetings, connecting + coordinating with the HotRoller Girl Productions beauty team, managing beauty partnerships, and bringing a talented community together to create glamour galore. Come show day, the months and months of preparation blossom in real-time–– it is so satisfying.

What can people expect to see and what do you want people to take away from it?

This upcoming season at LA Fashion Week, everyone can expect the hottest sustainable talent from across the globe, gathering in one place to share their love for beauty and fashion. I would definitely consider LAFW FW22 a true reunion for most–– it will be special. Working with the best of the best, backstage is comprised of progressive beauty professionals who continue to refine their education and toolkit on a daily basis. Watching beauty trends come to life all around me, I find myself in awe of the collaborative talent that takes the runway by storm. I know the greatest takeaway will instill hope for a brighter tomorrow, especially during these tough times.

Tell us your other roles such as CEO of Hotrollergirl Productions?

I’m a Hair Stylist at La Rouge Salon, a Redken Artist that travels the nation as an educator and Founder/CEO of Hotroller Girl Productions.
HotRoller Girl Productions specializes in editorial events, runway shows, and photoshoots while providing a curated community of highly talented beauty professionals. The artist network alone is built organically through team building and nationwide partners, including Redken and Tearsheet. Hotroller Girl Productions works with independent educators to provide worldwide talent in state-of-the-art facilities. You can follow more of my journey at @hotrollergirl.

How do you balance a healthy lifestyle?

I started young in the self-care department, naturally turning every sleepover into my beauty room with makeovers, treatments, snacks, and catching up on life. To this day, I take the “me” time by doing things that make me feel good in my own skin and help others feel more confident in their own. That’s what it’s all about.
